Timing
Only Fully
Automic Timing (FAT) results will be accepted as School
Records.
Only athletes who remain on the team until the
end of the season are eligible for their performances to be considered School
Records.
PROVISIONAL records are denoted as
such because these school records are not good enough to qualify
for any MIAA post-season
meets.

Howard Drew Award Winners |
The Howard Drew Award is
named after the 1912 Springfield High School Olympian, the original
"World's Fastest Man." Drew's amazing accomplishments, especially
for a young Black man during a time of rampent racism, has been forgotten
primarily because he did not win the Olympic Gold in the 100m Dash at
the 1912 Stockholm Olympics, due to an injury to his leg in the
semi-finals. His plan of winning Gold four years later in the
1916 Berlin Olympics was ruined due to the outbreak of World War
I. But those setbacks didn't stop Drew from finishing college at
USC, setting multiple World Records, becoming a soldier, a lawyer, a track
official, a civil rights advocate, an author and a judge. His full
story can be found at www.HowardDrew.com. x The Howard Drew Trophy is awarded on very rare occasions to honor an extraordinary scholar-athlete who suffered season-ending injury like Drew but perservered to the best of their ability. |
