2009 Steele Relays
Our first big meet of the season and only about a half
the team in attendance.
With Kareem still healing, LeeAndrew was pressed into
service on both the
4x1 and 4x2 relays. Although the results were less than
hoped for, LeeAndrew
had great 4x1 handoffs with only 3 days of practice.
Jovi's start in the 4x1
was fantastic and the 4x1 will be poised to take gold
at WMass
once we're at full strength.
In the 4x2, the standout
performance was clearly "Fabulous Christie" with a
blazing low-23 first leg
split. In the field events, Anthony had his best
(and first) long
jumps.
In the discus, Luis has passed the PVIAC qualifying mark and is
just a
few feet short of making Western Mass. And all his throws were into a
stiff headwind!
